The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed Sen. Martin Heinrich of New Mexico for re-election, citing Sen. Heinrich’s long track record of championing wildlife conservation, safeguarding clean air and water, protecting public lands and habitat, and supporting hunters and anglers.
“No one fights harder day in and day out for America’s majestic natural resources than Sen. Martin Heinrich. He’s a tireless advocate for growing New Mexico’s world-class recreation economy and safeguarding our public lands. Hunters, anglers, outdoor recreationalists and small business owners know Sen. Heinrich can be counted on to do what’s right for New Mexico’s fish, wildlife and outdoor heritage,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund is extremely proud to endorse our friend Martin for re-election.”
Among the highlights of Sen. Heinrich’s conservation work:
- Heinrich has been a strong advocate for public lands, helping open thefirst-ever public access to New Mexico’s Sabinoso Wilderness and working to renew the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
- Heinrich is a co-sponsor of the Sportsmen’s Act to ensure and expand access to public lands.
- Heinrich has worked to reconnect our children with America’s great outdoors, co-sponsoring the Healthy Kids Outdoors Act.
- Heinrich was one of the critical voices in keeping the National Defense Authorization Act free from provisions that would have harmed wildlife across the West.
