Budget Deal Critical to Supporting Jobs, North Carolina’s Outdoor Recreation Economy
WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 10, 2019) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund urged U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) to invest in North Carolina’s public lands and outdoor recreation economy by supporting a budget deal instead of a continuing resolution. Tillis’ leadership is essential to ensuring our national parks and public remain accessible for all North Carolinians.
“North Carolina’s national parks and public lands are central to the state’s heritage and booming outdoor recreation economy,” said Karla Raettig, executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “Senator Tillis must help pass a final budget deal now to deliver the certainty our parks and lands need. Anything less leaves North Carolina’s $1.3 billion outdoor recreation economy and outdoor heritage at risk.”
