Budget Deal Critical to Supporting Jobs, Maine’s Outdoor Recreation Economy
WASHINGTON, D.C. (December 10, 2019) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund urged U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) to invest in Maine’s public lands and outdoor recreation economy by supporting a budget deal instead of a continuing resolution. Collins’ leadership is essential to ensuring our national parks and public remain accessible for all Mainers.
“Maine’s national parks and public lands are central to the Pine Tree State’s heritage and booming outdoor recreation economy,” said Karla Raettig, executive director of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “Senator Collins must help pass a final budget deal now to deliver the certainty our parks and lands need. Anything less leaves Maine’s $548 million outdoor recreation economy and outdoor heritage at risk.”
