WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Supreme Court nominee and U.S. Circuit Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will bring essential leadership to the high court and should be swiftly confirmed. The National Wildlife Federation heralded her experience and the historic nature of her nomination to be the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“At a time when people and wildlife alike face unprecedent challenges, we need leaders on the Supreme Court who understand not only the law, but also how its interpretation can create and perpetuate environmental injustices and impact the climate and public health. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is an exceptionally qualified jurist and historic nominee who would bring these qualities to the court,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation. “The U.S. Senate should swiftly take up her nomination and confirm her as the next associate justice of the U.S. Supreme court.”
