WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 17, 2019) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund endorsed three candidates for the Virginia Legislature, calling their leadership essential for ensuring wildlife, clean water protections and conservation stewardship are at the center of the body’s work for the next two years. The Action Fund endorsed two members of the House of Delegates for re-election, Wendy Gooditis and Mike Mullin, and State Senate candidate Ghazala Hashmi.
These three endorsements are the latest the Action Fund has issued this year in Virginia. The organization endorsed Virginia Senator Emmett Hanger in May for his re-election bid.
“Now more than ever, we need champion for wildlife, water and clean energy leading our states. That’s why the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund is proud to endorse three candidates for the Virginia Legislature, Delegates Wendy Gooditis and Mike Mullin, as well as Dr. Ghazala Hashmi,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “Delegate Gooditis and Delegate Mullin both have demonstrated their enduring support for wildlife conservation, clean water protections and environmental stewardship, including prioritizing the state’s transition to clean energy. We’re also proud to endorse Dr. Hashmi for making environmental stewardship a centerpiece of her campaign to join the Virginia Senate.”
