WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 22, 2021) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy for re-election, citing his unparalleled leadership driving New Jersey’s clean energy economy and responsible offshore wind power, collaborative approach to conserving the state’s public lands and waters, and his dedication to conserving and restoring wildlife. “Governor Phil Murphy has been a national leader in showing how states can be clean energy pioneers, conserve and restore our public lands and iconic waterways, and ensure our wildlife endure for future generations. His leadership capitalizing on New Jersey’s offshore wind potential — and in a way that protects and benefits both wildlife and people — has been revolutionary and sets the pace for other states nationwide,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “He also has shown how multi-state collaborations are essential to restoring clean water and wildlife habitat across the Delaware River Basin and reducing carbon emissions through the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. “The people of New Jersey have been fortunate to true conservation champion like Governor Murphy leading the Garden State for the past four years. For that reason, we are honored to endorse Governor Murphy’s re-election.” “It’s an honor to receive the endorsement of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund,” Governor Murphy said. “During our first term, we’ve proudly taken bold steps to combat climate change and accelerate our transition to a 100% clean energy future.
