WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 28, 2022) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed North Carolina U.S. Senate candidate Cheri Beasley, citing her support for developing clean power and common-sense climate solutions, prioritizing environmental justice, protecting clean air and water, and preventing offshore drilling off the state’s coast.

“As chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court and throughout her years of public service, Cheri Beasley has demonstrated leadership that centers the people of the Tarheel State. Now more than ever we need leaders like Cheri in the U.S. Senate to champion conservation solutions that don’t leave anyone behind,” said Collin O’Mara, CEO of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “From the climate-fueled disasters North Carolina faces today to challenges it could face down the road, like irresponsible offshore drilling, Cheri understands that Congress has a responsibility to work for people and wildlife alike.
