WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 4, 2021) — The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund has endorsed Terry McAuliffe for governor, citing his long record of achievement in Virginia, including supporting renewable energy and climate solutions, expanding offshore wind development, and championing Chesapeake Bay restoration.
“Terry McAuliffe is a leader in pursuing climate solutions, creating clean energy jobs, and restoring our natural resources, especially the Chesapeake Bay,” said Collin O’Mara, president and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund. “Terry’s commitments to clear clean energy goals and efforts to combat climate change would set Virginia on the path to achieve 100 percent clean energy by 2035 through solutions that create good jobs and lift up all communities.
“The people of Virginia were fortunate to have a conservation, climate, water, and wildlife champion like Terry McAuliffe leading the commonwealth in his first term. The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund is honored to endorse him for a second term.”
“Climate change threatens Virginia’s resources, our communities, and our economy, and I’ve got a comprehensive plan to address it and create thousands of good-paying jobs as we transition to our clean energy future. I’m grateful for the support of the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund who will join me as we move Virginia into a stronger future,” said Terry McAuliffe. “I have plans to move Virginia to 100% clean energy by 2035 and create thousands of good jobs while fighting against climate change. My opponent Glenn Youngkin has no plans to address the dire impacts of climate change and will leave Virginia’s communities behind. There is too much at stake in this election for Virginians not to get out and vote”
